Carl Dennis 1929-2016

Carl L. Dennis was born in Sciota and became the Postmaster in 1951, a position he held for 35 years.

Carl was a Mason in the Barger Lodge 325 as well as belonging to the Lehigh Consistory of Allentown, Irem Temple of Wilkes Barre, and the Pocono Mountain Shrine Club. He was a member of the West End American Legion, a member of the Elks Lodge in East Stroudsburg, a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and a member of the Western Pocono Lions Club as well as many other organizations including the U.S. Navy League. Naval Aviation had become his area of expertise during the Korean War.

Most importantly to the members of the West End Fair in Gilbert, Carl was a director since 1974. As a longtime director he was involved with the Finance Committee, and during fair week one could see him collecting tickets at the arena.

We lost Carl on December 7, but he is now happily reunited with his Elaine, his wife who preceded him in death.
